Recreational Program

GAME DAY

This day is a favorite among Hope´s children and they look forward to it every week. Every Friday we give our youth time to have fun and be kids. Fridays are dedicated to sports, fellowship, games, play, and fun! Children are given the opportunity to ride bikes, play board games, video games, ping pong, air hockey, foosball, dodge ball, basketball, soccer, jump rope and overall enjoy themselves!

SOCCER

Our children and youth are given the opportunity to play soccer two days a week through the collaboration with another local ministry, Global Soccer Ministries. Several of our AM children and teens attend the soccer program Tuesdays and Thursdays mornings. In the future, we hope to expand soccer to include teams made up Hope children and teens.

Excursions & Outings

As opportunity allows, Hope takes its children on fun educational, cultural, and recreational field trips and outings. These excursions serve to expand our children´s minds and expose them to places and experiences they would otherwise not have access to. Some of the outings include : the National Symphony, the National Ballet, restaurants, movies, plays, conferences, concerts, the zoo, the park, the mall and museums.

Extracurricular Activities

Our field trips and excursions are motivated by a desire to expose Hope's children to cultural, recreational, and sporting activities that they would not be able to experience otherwise for financial and familial circumstances. Poverty is, in many ways, a way of life, and those without means are excluded from activities that those in the United States would consider "normal".

Some of the activities we provide are: visits to museums as a means of research, culture, and fun, visits to the National Theater to see plays, the National Symphony Orchestra, the National Ballet, visits to the movies, pars, marathons, the zoo, birthday parties, soccer games, and much more.
