Vocational Workshops

Carpentry

Within our vocational and developmental program you’ll find our first Workshop; carpentry! Our Workshops seek to teach our young adults a vocation in addition to their school studies so that they may learn a trade. Our adolescents find themselves in danger of falling into gangs, drugs, or other illicit activities. Our workshops are intended to help the youth maximize their free time by learning and enjoying themselves. We have received donations from different people in order to begin equipping the carpentry area. Recently, the Wyatt Family from Atlanta, GA made a donation that permitted us to purchase carpentry tools and equipment that are integral to this program. Directed by Fausto Arevalo, a 3rd generation carpenter, one of our goals is to be able to put the finished products created by our youth in our future store where others can purchase the fruit of this program’s work. We would also like to place the finished items in local stores for sale as a means to provide continued funding for the program and an income for the young adults of Hope for Guatemala. Look for what’s to come!

Beauty Salon and Esthetic Training

This program is still in development and we’re waiting on God to provide the funding for our future vocational training in the area of esthetics and beauty. We plan to focus on instructing each young lady on the beauty that God has placed both within and without in each of them. Be on the lookout for what God will do with this opportunity.

PURPOSE

To form the Guatemalan woman, with a positive mind and a desire to better herself, knowing that within themselves there is an incredible potential including values, virtues and gifts that God has given to each one of them.

Arts & Crafts

During school vacation, the children at Hope for Guatemala are motivated to learn arts and crafts of different types so they might discover their talents. Soon, we will have pictures of our arts & crafts workshops.
